Title: PE & Sport
Type: A Level
Entry Requirements:Standard entry requirements. While studying PE at GCSE is an advantage it is not essential.
Course Length: 2 Years
A level physical education allows you to study the full range of sports sciences including physiology, psychology, biomechanics and sociology. You will learn the fundamentals of each discipline as well as the impact they can have on sports participation and performance.
In conjunction with the development of theoretical knowledge you are also assessed in one practical activity. Ideally you will be actively involved in sport both within and outside of the academy. However, if you have an interest in sport and sports science and are not currently participating at a competitive level you have the opportunity to undertake a programme of rock climbing tuition and assessment as part of the course which has previously produced excellent results for a range of candidates.
You will be assessed by examination and practical assessment/ coursework.
What Students Say:
"A level PE is not just for athletes. It is a course that allows you to learn about the whole of the human body and mind."
