Care, support and guidance is undoubtedly a strong feature of Post 16 at Macmillan.

We believe that by respecting and valuing all members of our sixth form community, and by providing the right balance of challenge and support, everyone can achieve success. We regularly review progress against expectations and ensure systems are put in place to support you should you fall behind. The Post 16 team will monitor your overall academic progress and ensure that support is provided to help you achieve the very best results. Your pastoral tutor will provides day to day contact, monitoring and support, along with academic tutoring meetings, and there is learning support & SEN help where needed.

Impact on Teesside

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being and safety of our students. To further promote this, we work closely with Impact on Teesside, an NHS-based confidential service that is readily accessible to students. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than to a relatives or friends. During these sessions, a trained counsellor from Impact on Teesside listens to you and helps you find your own answers to problems without judging you.

  • Help with food costs
  • Help with transport
  • Help with books, stationery and equipment
  • Trips to university open days, higher education events and other activities that we feel are relevant to a student’s progress in Post 16.
